Published: San Antonio Express-News San Antonio is ranked No. 4 among the nation's next “boom towns” in a recent Forbes magazine article. Austin is ranked No. 1, followed by Raleigh, N.C., and Nashville, Tenn. After San Antonio, Houston is ranked No. 5 and Dallas No. 7. The July 6 article selected 10 next boom towns from the nation's 52 largest metropolitan areas, those with populations of more than 1 million. “Aided by relatively low housing prices and buoyant economies, these Lone Star cities have become major hubs for jobs and families,” according to the article by Joel Kotkin.
