The Brooks Development Authority announced that Texas A&M University San Antonio has signed a deal to lease more than 77,000 square feet of space at Brooks City-Base.

It's projected that the campus will open in late August for the fall semester, which is the same time the university is expected to open the first building located on the main campus near Loop 410 and Zarzamora Road.

The campus at Brooks City-Base will include nearly two dozen classrooms, two auditoriums, multiple offices and four laboratories.

Investment in the project is estimated at $3.5 million, with the development authority spending about $300,000 for improvements. The lease term is five years.
