Topping Charts & Talking Priorities

San Antonio consistently sets itself apart proving to be a city of economic growth and constant collaboration. Earlier this month, among the Urban Land Institute’s top markets to watch, San Antonio ranked #32 among other U.S. cities. The SAEDF and many notable economists see an increase in the demand to invest in San Antonio and we will continue to tell our story touting the city’s assets and commitment to strengthening our workforce. Based on national statistics and trends, the ULI indicates San Antonio is a rising star. Keep your eyes on San Antonio as we aim to top this list.

Earlier this month 130 of San Antonio’s finest business and civic leaders made the trek to Capitol Hill for the 39 th annual SA to DC Trip led by the San Antonio Chamber of Commerce. I was fortunate enough to be a part of this valuable assemblage of leaders, all dedicated to advocating for the issues, causes and priorities that San Antonio holds dear. That dossier of priorities included business, industry, immigration, military, education and community development. As one of the strongest community delegations to descend on Washington, I’m confident that the San Antonio community has left an impression. The 2017 SA to DC trip provided open communication and garnered strong support that will continue to serve us well as we build on the momentum established.

So after a fast paced start to 2017, I am proud to share my experience in D.C. as well as some exciting economic development news from San Antonio. This newsletter issue features valuable information on the continued growth of the San Antonio International Airport as we welcome more nonstop flights for our community. We also delve into the much-anticipated hub of clean energy innovation and tech advancement, known as EPIcenter and recent SA Works success, which has San Antonio’s workforce ready for the opportunity ahead.

I’d like to thank you for reading and investing in this great city. If you’re interested in learning more about the SA to DC trip, check out the conversation on social media with #SAtoDC2017. Thank you and have a great read!
