Ernst & Young LLP Invests Further in San Antonio with Additional Professional Center
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS (August 31, 2018) – Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has announced that its Government and Public Sector Organization (GPSO) plans to open a new professional centerin San Antonio. This venture will create up to 300 new full-time jobs in San Antonio, pending local incentive approvals.
This announcement comes less than a year after EY’s Financial Services Organization (FSO) chose San Antonio as the location for its client service delivery center that will employ up to 600 financial and information technology professionals in San Antonio. EY currently employs more than 200 San Antonians in its downtown office.
“San Antonio is experiencing exceptional momentum and is primed for investment,” said Randy Cain, Vice Chair and Southwest Region Managing Partner, Ernst & Young LLP. “The community has proven its ability to deliver on top tier talent in business and IT, and it made sense to partner with SAEDF and community leaders to pursue an additional growth opportunity.”
The City of San Antonio is considering an incentive package to support EY’s new location in San Antonio and will bring it to City Council for vote in September.
“Securing a new EY office in San Antonio less than a year after another significant investment by the organization is a vote of confidence for San Antonio’s pro-business environment and our demonstrated ability in business and technology,” said Mayor Ron Nirenberg. “San Antonio is the fastest growing city in the U.S. and stands to compete and win projects from world-class companies like EY.”
Bexar County Commissioners Court is also considering an incentives package to solidify EY’s latest investment in San Antonio.
“Bexar County continues to be open for business,” said Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff. “We are thrilled to see a leader like EY continue to invest in diversifying and expanding its San Antonio operations and we look forward to welcoming 300 new technology related jobs.”
The new facility will employ up to 300 professionals providing services to clients in the government and public sector in data management & analytics, technology automation, financial management, application and internal controls testing, risk and audit assurance, and business and technology program management.
“We are very excited about expanding within the San Antonio business environment,” said Michael Herrinton, Partner and GPSO business leader, Ernst & Young LLP. “The demographics provide EY access to top talent who have the skills and experiences necessary to provide exceptional client service across all parts of the government and public sector.”
“This is truly an exciting time in San Antonio,” said David McGee, Chairman of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation. “Team San Antonio continues to rise above its competition in offering unique value propositions to organizations like EY to attract significant locations to our city. I am proud to say that we not only got San Antonio on the list for consideration, but we competed and made it to the finish line.”
To locate the new operation, EY is prepared to invest an additional $5 million into the build out of the newly developed Farinon Business Park on the city’s Northwest side.
