A Global Gateway: International Business Forum in San Antonio

San Antonio is a gateway to North America. Culturally inclusive and centrally located, the San Antonio region is attracting investment from companies across the world, most recently including announcements from Toyota, Aisin AW, Continental Structural Plastics, and FGF Brands.

To deepen relationships and build international connections for San Antonio businesses, the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation (SAEDF) will host the Tom C. Frost International Business Forum (IBF) on November 13, 2019, at the University of the Incarnate Word.

“Today, there are hundreds of international companies in San Antonio that represent over 30 countries,” said Rebecca Viagran, City of San Antonio Councilwoman and SAEDF International Advisory Council Co-Chair. “San Antonio is a global entry point into the U.S. and it is our goal to continue positioning San Antonio for competitive economic growth.”

The event will include several panel discussions for exporters, and foreign investors, a keynote luncheon, pre-arranged matchmaking meetings, and networking opportunities. The luncheon will feature welcome remarks from San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg and Keynote from Bernardo Ayala, Vice President of Mexico Markets, from Union Pacific on the importance of trade to supply chains.

The morning will feature two separate tracks, one for exporters and one for foreign direct investors. The exporter track will feature presentations that give businesses actionable insights into protocol, best practices, and opportunities for doing business with Germany, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and Canada. The foreign direct investor track allows international companies to explore opportunities in the U.S. The afternoon global track will feature panel sessions on trends in the global market place, including trade talks with China and the U.S., logistics and supply chain strategy, and e-commerce.
